BASE & FACE
It’s summer so you don’t want a heavy amount of any product on your face because we all know what it’s like to take your sunnies off and to find half your face on them, ha! For the base, I use Smashbox’s Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer*, you literally need the tiniest squeeze on your fingertips. Smooth the product onto your face and let it set in for a few seconds before applying your foundation. Use a light coverage foundation, I use Maybelline’s Dream Satin Liquid Foundation but it seems they have discontinued this particular range which is disappointing. I think I have another bottle stashed away somewhere but after I’ve used that I will have to start the search for a new foundation, it’s a shame as this was the only product that actually matched my skin tone. To set your base, I use Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer Water*, it works a treat to set your foundation, eyes, and refreshes your skin too.
As for brows, I don’t even know.
Keep it simple with your eyes as if you’re going to a beer garden out in the lovely sun, you’ll be wearing your sunnies all day so you don’t want under-eye sweat full of glitter, ew. I recently invested in a MAC Dazzleshadow Liquid in Beam Time* all over the lid as a sparkly base and it’s great on its own or paired with MAC’s Honey Lust from the Warm Neutrals palette which was been discontinued. Recently as part of my skincare routine, I’ve been using Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Boosting Serum* to help my lashes become a bit thicker and fuller as they are literally none existent without mascara. I’ve been using it for about four weeks now and it’s made such a difference, it doesn’t irritate my eyes and it feels just like a primer. I will be investing in some more once I reach the end! For primer, I use the partner product to the boosting serum, Lash Sensational Lash Primer to help separate my lashes and even though it looks a tad weird on the lashes at first, it really does help when it comes to smoothly taking off your mascara. For mascara, I also treated myself again to Maybelline’s Falsies Lash Lift Mascara*, it looks so good on both sets of lashes and actually gives you a lash lift without spending tons of money! What a bargain!
BLUSH, HIGHLIGHT & LIPS
For blush and highlight, I used to swear by Benefit’s High Beam but I’ve been converted to Soap & Glory’s Love at First Sight Blush & Highlight Powder* which is definitely worth the money, I promise. It adds another hint of pink but a lot of shine too. For lips, Carmex’s Cherry Lip Balm* works really well to make your lips look glossy but moisturizes them. It even has SPF 15 in it too, what a dream. If you fancy a shade of colour, I recommend Soap & Glory’s Spectaculips Lip Plumping Gloss in Plums Up*, it plumps your lips a tad but not too much and adds a nice shade of blush to your pout. I do suggest adding a layer of lip balm before applying the gloss as it does tingle a bit.
